Elainie's Famous Almond Milk!!
Ginger Aide from Rosemary Gladstar:
Homemade Ginger Ale
Ma Law's Miso
Spark
This recipes is copied from Carina's website.
Ingredients:
2 cups soaked almonds
6 cups water (less for a richer milk)
3 dates soaked (optional for sweetness)
2 tsp. vanilla (optional)
pinch of sea salt (optional)
Directions:
1. The longer you soak the less fat there is, and you increase nutrition and
digestibility. I soak overnight so it's usually a 12- 16 hour soak.
2. Blend almonds, dates, and salt in a blender with as much water as you can
fit in there without splattering all over the place. 3. Strain through a nutmilk
bag (which is what I use), or use a fine strainer, or line a strainer with cheesecloth.
Press it with the back of a large spoon to extract all the milk from the pulp
and keep adding the rest of the water. I strain mine right into a pitcher and
then add vanilla after it is strained.
Notes:
Elaine Love sells the Amazing Nut Milk Bag and her web address is www.PureJoyLivingFoods.com,
or email her at Raw4Life@yahoo.com.
Make sure you order the conical shaped nutmilk bag as I have a few and they are different. The conical one is the finest and makes the silkiest milk I have ever had.

Grate ginger root, add boiling water and simmer for 10 minutes, take off heat,
let cool just a bit, but when still warm squeeze fresh lemon juice in it, and
add raw honey.
Good to drink for flu, colds, congestion.

Miso:
Pour boiling water into a big coffee cup over a slice of ginger, 1 or 2 tbs
of diced tofu. I usually add a piece of nori, but it might be a bit early in
the day for you to face seaweed! lol. Stir it and let it sit a minute or two.
Add a scant tablespoon of white miso and stir gently. Let it sit -- the miso
will dissolve. It is important not to pour the boiling water over the miso because
you will kill the little organisms that make it so good for you.
I sometimes add green onions and a small dash of tamari, but not usually at breakfast!
This is a very good drink for first thing in the morning, especially in winter, because it is very warming.

It is organic apple cider vinegar,
distilled water, 2 cloves of garlic,
and honey. I will see if I can dig up exact amounts,
but what is listed above is for 1 person,
so it totals up to about 8oz.
